Carla Strahan King

Carla Melissa Strahan King of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 27, 1968 the daughter of Durwood and Betty Southall Strahan. She was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, was a realtor for Southern Homes Realty in Sheridan, and was formerly a teacher at Sheridan Elementary School for 15 years. Carla enjoyed decorating, flower gardening, and anything “Elvis”. Her greatest joy in life was making precious memories with her family, especially her son Kole.

Mrs. King died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Saline Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family, at the age of 43.

Survivors: Husband, Randy King; son, Kole King both of Sheridan; parents, Durwood and Betty Strahan of Fordyce; sister, Lisa and husband Kenn Babin; niece, Alexa Babin, all of Shreveport; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Providence Cemetery, near Sheridan. Officiating will be Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. Dubs Byars, with comments from friend, Carla Jones. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Mitch Baker, Gary Don Easley, Sam King, Kenn Babin, Bob Jones, Ron Sims and Ron Theiss. Honorary pallbearer will be her son, Kole King.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International, Grant County Camp, P.O. Box 332, Sheridan, AR 72150.

Providence Cemetery directions: Take Little Creek Cutoff to stop sign. Turn left on Hwy. 46. Approximately 4.5 miles, there will be a sign on the left that indicates “Cemetery Entrance”. Turn left down that county road and after about a mile, the road will end at cemetery.
