Albert Robert Nelson, II, 79 years of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away, with family by his side, Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Born 1944 in San Francisco, California to Albert Robert Nelson and Lillian Juanita Nelson. Albert grew up between San Francisco, California and Reno, Nevada. Albert was an avid saxophone player. He played in many clubs, venues and USO shows; from his teen years until 1969, when he married the love of his life Mary A. Nelson. Albert and Mary moved to Southern California in 1970 and raised four children. Throughout their time in California, Albert had many jobs, but primarily helped run the family catering business with his wife.

In 1993 Albert and his wife moved to Arkansas. They lived in Sherwood, Perryville, and Hot Springs. While in Perryville they were caretakers at Camp Ouachita and owned Tender Lovin' Cooking restaurant. During their 39-year marriage, Albert and Mary enjoyed going on cruises and weekend get-aways. After the passing of Mary in 2008, Albert moved back to Sherwood, to be closer to his family.

Albert's priority was always his family. Even when times were tough, he made sure his children had great vacations, trips to Disneyland and wonderful Christmases. Albert had a very strong work ethic, which he instilled in all four of his children.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife Mary Nelson and daughter Cynthia Nelson-DeBow (2015). Albert is survived by: Daughter Michelle Nelson and her partner Todd Gentry, son Albert Robert (Bob) Nelson, III, son Matthew Nelson and his wife Andrea; 8 grandsons: Trevor and his wife Brittany, Logan, Rob, Chance, Daniel, Braden, Nash and Caleb and great grandson Noah Albert. Albert is also survived by his brother Frank Nelson and his wife Ericka, in-laws, Lawanda and Walker, many nieces and nephews, family, and many friends.

Albert's celebration of life will be Saturday, May 20 ^th , 2023 at First General Baptist Church in North Little Rock at 10am. 5920 Mac Arthur Dr, North Little Rock (AR), 72118.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to your local school's music program or the American Diabetes Association.
