Allen Dorsey Fleming, Sr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 12, 1938 at Scott, Arkansas, the son of the late Coy Robert and Birdie F. McNair Fleming.   You rarely saw Dorsey without his hat on and at some point during your visit, a smile on his face.  He had advice to offer free of charge and you'd be smart to listen.  He dispensed life lessons and he truly believed his way was the best way, not out of arrogance, but through a lifetime of experience. Nobody is sure how long he drove a truck, but it was most of his life. He owned A&A Trucking and believed long hours, hard work, and treating people right was the only way to do it.   His CB handle "55" became a part of his identity.   Mr. Fleming was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church and also a member of Arkansas Chuckwagon Racers.  His greatest joy was being "Dad", "Pop", and "Pawpaw Dorsey" and he dearly loved his family.  If you knew Dorsey, you know he had a larger than life personality and had a way of making your day brighter.

Mr. Fleming died Thursday, October 16, 2025 at his home in Sheridan, surrounded by family, at the age of 87.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Brumbelow Fleming; grandson, Carson Scott Fleming; granddaughter, Christina Paul;  daughter-in-law, Theresa Shaw; brothers, Roy Fleming, Alvin Fleming, Gene Fleming, Leon Fleming; sisters, Sue Hall, Thelma Wight.  He was also preceded in death by his faithful companion for many years, his dog "Blue".

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Allen D. Fleming, Jr. and Paula, Robert and Cindy Fleming, Derric and Tina Fleming, Rick Shaw and wife Rebecca; daughters, Liz Fleming Lybrand, Tonya Maxwell and husband Tim; sister, Violet Hall; grandchildren, Miranda Fleming, Megan Fleming Terry (Anthony) and Arica Allen, Frank Swain, Jr. (Heather), Kalyn (Jeremy) Herring, Sarah (Richard) Davis, Matthew (Susie) Fleming, Mitchell (Madison) Fleming, Marcus (Shelby) Fleming, Faith (Jarrod) Huffer, Bay Garrett Fleming, Danielle Fleming, Nick (Chasidy) Lybrand, Josh (Haley) Maxwell, Zachary Maxwell, Lizzie Kay (Jeremiah) Adams; Great Grandchildren, Cole, Addison, Kash, Rebecca, Bailey, Luke, Damon, Colton, Sheyenne, Harper, Stevie, Braydon, Bryson, Hunter, Faithlynn, Ella, Cole, Belle, Daisy, Emerie, Beckett, Samuel, Josiah, Eliana, Mia, Jackson, Everleigh, Cross, Ponder, Worth, Luke, Grey Scott; Great Great Grandchild, Bennett. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and untold numbers of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 20, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton officiating.  Burial will be in Bethel (South) Cemetery.  Visitation is Sunday, 5:00-8:00 P.M.
