Obituary

Annie Mae Baker Brown Purtle of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 21, 1932 at Haskell, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Roy and Leta Lewis Baker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan.

Mrs. Purtle died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at her home in Sheridan at the age of 77. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Versel Brown and James Purtle; Brothers, Whitie Baker, Thurman Baker, Bud Baker, Jimmy Baker, Ted Baker; Sisters, Helena Brown, Marcele Taylor and Sadie Ferguson.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and John Jackson of Redfield and Tanga and Ed Dreher of Bryant; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Baker of Sheridan and Willis and Lori Baker of Hardin; Sister, Creva Culpepper of Houston; Grandchildren and spouses, Landon and Donna Culpepper, Micah and Marsha Culpepper, Angela and Michael Little, Matt Culpepper and Jack Dreher; Great Grandchildren, Christian Culpepper, Austin Culpepper, Aidan Culpepper, Sebastian Culpepper, and a great granddaughter on the way.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Center Grove Cemetery, near Sheridan with Rev. John Fleming and Rev. Jim Baker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan.

Pallbearers are John Jackson, Eddie Dreher, Michael Little, Jack Dreher, Landon Culpepper and Willis Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Baker, Micah Culpepper and Matt Culpepper.
