Arlene Harrington Valentine of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 4, 1922 at Sheridan, the only child of Elbert and Ella Crutchfield Harrington. She was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and was retired from Shipper's in Sheridan. Arlene loved to cook, and in the 1960's, she opened the Cozy Nook Café. After retirement from Shipper's, she would often have some of her former coworkers come to her home for lunch. According to the family, her specialty was her homemade coconut cake. She also enjoyed quilting, and made many quilts to share with her family and friends. Arlene had a great love for her Lord and Savior, and is no doubt, rejoicing with Him today.

Though a resident of Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mrs. Valentine died at Saline Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the age of 94. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Valentine and her son, Elbert Lynn Valentine.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Benny Bradshaw of Sheridan; brother-in-law, Dewey Cash of Rison; grandchildren, Brock Bradshaw, Robert Valentine, Marshall Valentine, Ty Bradshaw, and Paula DeBard; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. John Mooney officiating. The services will conclude at the funeral home, with no committal service at the cemetery. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation is Friday, 5:00-7:00 P.M.. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
