Obituary

Arlo N. Beck of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center on Feb. 2, 2014. He was born in Sheridan to Pearl Heath Beck and Homer Jeff Beck on November 8th, 1944. He was a heavy equipment operator at ALCOA for 35 years, and served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years during the Vietnam war. He was an endless fountain of practical knowledge, and could always be counted on to build a fence, lay a line or repair a car, and pulled many motorists (including his wife) out of icy ditches between Sheridan and Benton. Survivors are wife, Susy; brother, Lester Tommy Beck (Louise Leopard) of Rison; brother-in-law, Henry Crutchfield of Klamath Falls, Oregon; nephews. Kenneth Crutchfield of Oregon, Danny and Steven Beck (Carolyn) of Sheridan; nieces, Carolyn (Georges) Boujakly of Topeka, Kansas, Rachel Black of Georgia and aunt, Lillie Mae Heath Cato of Hardin. He was preceded in death by brother, Georgie Jeff Beck, sister, Irene Crutchfield, his parents, stepfather Robert N. Mack and niece, Rebecca Crossno.

Pallbearers are special hunting, fishing friend and Air Force bud, David Lee Beebe, Sr.(Debbie), nephew Danny Beck, former co-workers Randall Carroll, George Wilson, Billy Ward, Dillard Garrett, Bobby Wells, and high school buddies, Joe Brewer and Wilson Furr.

Funeral services will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, Feb. 6. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service. Burial at Philadelphia Cemetery, Prattsville, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Lost Creek Cemetery, P.O. Box 514, Sheridan, AR 72150.
