Born Barbara Ann Springer on the night the B17 bomber crashed In Grant County, the world should have known then she would be a force to be reckoned with. As the youngest child of V. O. and Esma Springer, she grew up the favored baby of the family She graduated from Sheridan in 1961 with many lifelong friends.
She married Rusty Williams in 1964 and they began their family and moved to Sheridan to take over the family flower shop in 1970. All three kids were raised in play pens in the workroom and all stated working at illegal ages. They instilled faith, family and work ethic, as well as providing all the kids' favorite place to hang out in Sheridan for a number of years. There was always food, video games and basketball.
The predeceased list is too long to write here. If you're not reading this, you may have predeceased her. Let's just say there's a bigger reunion there than there will be at any funeral, the biggest of which is with Alan.
Our parents gave us the best childhood anywhere taught us how to work at a very young age. It was a rite of passage to get prom and homecoming corsages, wedding flowers and even funeral flowers from Springer’s. A lot of us earned extra money by delivering flowers on holidays. She became highly involved in the Arkansas Florist Association, having served in the capacity of many offices and committees, the Red Cross and was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club.
Ann loved music, travel and loved flowers and nature of all kinds. Her. best vacation trips of her life were to California and to Montana, but she also loved short trips to Tunica and then Biloxi, Louisiana and the trips to see Jimmy Buffett.
She had an artistic eye, and after retirement began to out her creative sites on quilting and sewing, becoming an accomplished quilt maker. Many of us have quilts, baby blankets and various embroidered gifts.
But of all the things she loved, her family and specifically her grandkids were the center of her world. Everything changed in 1997 when The Princess arrived, followed by her equally favorite most-handsome grandson. Miles and years of cheer meets and baseball games were a huge highlight for her.
We (John, Jackie, Mackenzie, Chris, Fletcher, Kenny and Lydia) appreciate all who've been involved in her care for the last two years, and we also appreciate all those who have checked on her, visited her, prayed for her and supported us.
It doesn't seem appropriate, given her life's work, to put a suggested memorial in lieu of flowers. If you feel led to do so, there are many great charities out there. You can also just do something to make someone smile.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 3:00 P.M at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Tommy Jones, Pastor officiating. Visitation beginning at 2:00 until service time.
