On December 17, 2015 at 2:20 A.M. Barbara Stevens Nichols of Redfield, Arkansas closed her eyes on earth and awakened to hear the Lord say "Well done, thou good and faithful servant". Barbara was finally home.
She was born on October 30, 1943 to the late JT and Myrtis Stevens. She was raised and educated in the Ico/Sheridan area. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She took great pride in her trio "Sweet Harmony" with her two nieces, Terri and Tammi. She was also a nurse and enjoyed every moment of every baby she helped deliver.
She married the love of her life, Buddy Nichols on October 11, 1964. To this marriage, they had three daughters. Their love was an example to so many of unconditional love.
Barbara is survived by husband, Buddy; daughters, Dianna (Doug), Melea (Tim), Nikki (Donnie); three step-daughters, Terri, Teresa and Linda; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Bobby Stevens, special nieces, Terri, Tammi and Belinda and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters and her son, Jeff Stevens.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carroll Koon, Bro. Ronnie Meredith and Bro. Joey Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in the Ico community. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Chuck Croy, Greg Burris, Spencer Croy, Joe Gonzalez, Duane Rielly and Stuart Cager. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Lone Pine Missionary Baptist Church.
