Obituary

Barbara Lee Caldwell Orr of Leola, Arkansas, was born April 1, 1949, in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Doyle Clifton and Betty Lee Hovermale Caldwell. She was a longtime and faithful member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church and spent her life working as a homemaker as well as an office manager for OR&R in Leola for many years. Barbara was a devout Christian who loved her Lord with all of her heart and placed all her faith in him, now her faith has become sight. Barbara was also a firm believer in building a strong and loving family, all of her kids, grandkids, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, in-law's, any and all family no matter how close or extended were all loved dearly by her. To describe her unwavering faith and love, her daughters said it best:

"She was our biggest prayer warrior, our loudest cheerleader, the best cook—hands down, our adventure partner, our “stop and smell the roses” travel companion, the one who always gave the best advice, our sports-watching buddy, our favorite shopping partner, the proudest Nana, and most of all, our best friend. God blessed us beyond measure with one incredible Momma and Nana. She had the biggest heart and loved and cared for others with a fierce and unwavering love. She poured herself into the people she loved and left an imprint on all of our hearts that will never fade. For the past two years, she fought a courageous battle against cancer with strength, grit, courage, and an unshakable faith. Today, the world feels a little dimmer without her beautiful blue eyes and that precious smile. Our hearts are broken, and we will miss her more than words could ever express. But even through our tears, we rejoice. We rejoice because we know where she is. She is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she is completely healed, whole, and free from every pain and sorrow. What a glorious hope we have!

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21

Today, we give all praise and glory to the One her soul longed for—the One she loved and faithfully served—Jesus. Until we see you again, Mama. We love you more than words can say. Your legacy of faith, love, strength, and joy will live on through all of us."

Barbara went to be with her Lord peacefully at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 77.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Paul Orr, her brothers-in-law, Jim Orr and David Helm, sister-in-law, Joy Mullens, niece, Amy Orr, and nephew Brian Diemer. She is survived by her daughters Shannon (Scott) Keller of Gunter, TX, Sharon Previtte of Poyen, AR, brothers Doyle Wayne (Vickie) Caldwell of Memphis, TN, Steve (Margaret) Caldwell of Leola, AR, Jim (Jan) Caldwell of Sheridan, AR, sister-in-law Jo Helm of Leola, AR, three grandchildren Kaden, Kylee, and Ashland, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and many very dear and close friends.
