Obituary

Barbara Ann Lancaster Pinson passed away on Sunday, July 28th at Sheridan Healthcare. She was the daughter of thelate A.L. (Red) Lancaster and Ophie Davis Lancaster. She was born on April 29, 1938 in Sheridan, Arkansas.

Barbara graduated from Sheridan High School in 1956 and shortly after she married the love of her life, Bobby Pinson. They were married for 68 years. After working as a secretary at Sheridan Elementary School, she began a lengthy careerat Rockwell Mfg. Co., which later became Sterling Plumbing Group/Kohler Co., where she served as Purchasing Manager. She retired in 1993.

Barbara was proud of her Christian faith and never missed an opportunity to tell another person of her love of Jesus. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan. It was here she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher, worked with the Food Pantry, as a Youth Sponsor and served the Church in many other ways. After retirement, Barbara and Bobby volunteered with Nailbenders for Jesus. As part of this group, they helped to construct church buildings across Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Brother, Raymond Carroll (Red) Lancaster, her Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth Lancaster and her Sister, Helen Adams. She is survived by her Husband of 68 years, Bobby Pinson of Sheridan, her Son Gary Pinson (Sharon) of Sheridan, her Niece, Kathy Dailey (Carl) of Lane, Kansas, her Grandson Nate Pinson of Sheridan, her Granddaughters, Mandy Jones ( Bruce) of Ferndale and Nikki Allen of Cabot and her Brother Leon Lancaster of Sheridan.  She also has two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Visitation with a Memorial Service immediately following to celebrate Barbara's life on Wednesday, July 31st at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Sheridan. A private graveside family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry, 1201 S Rock St., Sheridan, AR 72150-7080. The family would like to thank the staff of Crown Point Retirement Center, Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation, and Affinity Hospice for the love and care they showed Barbara.
