Barbara Lea Cooper Scott of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 21, 1945 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the daughter of Helen Irene Hesse Knoll and the late James David Cooper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, and had retired after many years of service as an accountant at UAMS. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, cooking and spending precious time with her family.

Ms. Scott passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 72.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Cooper.

Survivors: mother, Helen Irene Hesse Knoll of Texarkana, Texas; daughters, Regina Paff of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Scarlett McPherson (Russell) of White Hall, Laynette Riley (Russell) of Rogers, Rachel Lee (Stephen) of Sheridan; brother, J.D. Cooper (Dianna) of Texarkana, Texas; sister, Margaret Hinson of North Little Rock; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, lots of grand dogs and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. that afternoon at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
