Ben F. Caldwell of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 28, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Jeffie Green Caldwell. Ben attended Ouachita Baptist University where he played football and then transferred to Baylor University where he was on the swim team and Air Force ROTC.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a Rotarian. He had served in the Air Force during the Korean War and the Navy during World War II.
Ben retired as President of Malvern National Bank in Sheridan after many years of service.
Mr. Caldwell died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 89.
Survivors: wife Nancy Brittain Caldwell of Sheridan; son, Frank Caldwell of Bush, LA; daughter, Suzanne Fose of Greenwood, Maine; daughter-in-law, Debbie Caldwell of Bush, LA; step-daughters, Laura Curry of Sheridan and Julie McGinness of Little Rock; 2 grandsons, Chris Fose of Los Angeles, CA, Benjamin Caldwell of Sun, LA; step-grandchildren, Chris Wood of Sun, LA, Carly Curry and Joelle Curry both of Sheridan ;1 great granddaughter, Olivia Caldwell of Bogalusa, LA; 1 great step granddaughter, Brennan Wood of Sun, LA, and a host of friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ed Simpson and Dr. Sam Adkins officiating.
