Bernice Mutz Edwards of Hensley, Arkansas was born October 2, 1926 in Raymondville, Texas, the daughter of the late Bernard K. and Hazel Widman Mutz. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and cooking the best fried chicken around. She had retired from the Arkansas School for the Deaf after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Edwards died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock at the age of 88.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cecil Edwards, son, Paul Edwards, infant daughter, Katherine Edwards, son-in-law, Charles Carter, sisters, Margaret Croxall, Mary Edwards and brothers, Leonard Mutz and Richard Mutz.
Survivors: sons, William Carroll Edwards and wife Nancy of Kingwood, Texas; Jim Edwards and wife Rhonda of Conway, Kenneth Edwards of Sheridan; daughters, Helen Tinkle and husband Doug of Hensley, Sheri Pitts and husband Louis of Ola, Susan Bookalis and husband Andy of Hickory Plains, Wilma Edwards of Hensley; daughter-in-law, Kathy Edwards of Little Rock; sisters, Ella Mae Nolley of Pasadena, Texas, Marlys Garrison of Austin, Texas, and Doris Wellborn of Abilene, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Poe officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 A.M until service time.
Pallbearers are Doug Tinkle, David Tinkle, Cody Sievers, Hunter Bell, Doug Tinkle II and Cody Tinkle.
