Bess Ray Windle of Sheridan, Arkansas passed from this life to her Heavenly home Thursday, August 23, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Osborne and John Windle; her parents, John Joseph and Martha Ray; brothers, Heber, Orion, Eura, Arla, Colen, John, H.W.(Rabbit) Ray; sisters, Zola Ray, Dena Ray, Iva Moore, Mildred Porter and Marie Ray.

Mrs. Windle is survived by her sisters-in-law, Eloise Ray and Mary Lockhart; her niece Darla Jackson and husband Rabbit, who were also her care givers; and many other beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mrs. Windle enjoyed her career as a fashion buyer for Pfeifers in Little Rock and Belk-Jones in Texarkana. She was privileged to travel abroad following her retirement and treasured many hunting trips with her husband and friends. She was a long-time member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Texarkana where she served as Pre-School Director for 30 years. She was currently a member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with her nephew, Bro. Joseph C. Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville.
