Obituary

Betty Ruth Tribble Barnes of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 1, 1930 at Little Rock, the daughter of the late William Silas "Bud" Tribble and Cora Olive Smith Tribble.  First and foremost, she loved her Lord.  She was a longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church in Sheridan, which later became North Main Baptist Church.  She was the oldest living member of the church.  Not only a beautiful lady, she had the gift of making beautiful things. She worked in several florists in Sheridan over the years arranging flowers.  She was also an avid collector of anything "Santa Claus".  She enjoyed going to flea markets and eating taco salads.  Her family was her world.  She cherished each and every one of them and just being around them brought her such joy.  She was the best source of advice for her family, because they knew it came from a heart of prayer and love.

Mrs. Barnes died Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her home in Sheridan, at the age of 93.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Barnes, Sr.; brother, Bill Tribble; son-in-law, Sammy Pruitt; daughter-in-law, Diana Barnes.

Survivors include her son, John W. Barnes, Jr.; daughters, Kyle Ruth Pruitt, Shari Rea (James); all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Jody Barnes (Stacy), Lenny Barnes (Channell), Shana Cotton, Becky Greene, Blake Rea; 9 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and twins on the way;  her 4th child, her dog Bella:. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and too many friends to list.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan with Bro. Joe Bratton and Bro. Brent Williams officiating.  Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan.
