Betty Sue Autrey Paty, age 91, of Sheridan, Arkansas, died Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born September 5, 1930, in Thiel, Grant County, Arkansas.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Paty, Jr.; parents, Willie and Dollie Autrey; two sisters, Melva Harris and Virginia Garrison; and one brother, Billy Autrey.

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Homer) Knighten, David (Pam) Paty, and Leslie (Kay) Tannahill; seven grandchildren, Roland (Jennifer) Knighten, Jacob (Wendy) Paty, Daniel (Whitney) Paty, Anna (Taggart) Moore, Lauren (Justin) Taylor, Lynsey (Rustin) Thornberry, and Sara (Seth) Campbell; fifteen great -grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-laws, Marilyn Autrey and Faye Welch; one brother-in-law, C.S. Walker; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Betty graduated from Leola High School in 1949 and began working as a waitress at Wilson's Café.  Later in her career, she was employed by Young's Discount Store in Sheridan, but her lifelong passion was caring for others, especially her family.

She was a devoted member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities, her favorite serving as Children's Sunday School Teacher for sixty years.

Mrs. Paty enjoyed life, always with a smile. She will be missed by many.

Her family sends a special "Thank You" to the caring staff at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton and Bro. Robert Lyons officiating.  Burial will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation is also Wednesday, from 9:30 A.M. until service time.

Pallbearers are her grandsons.
