Betty Rose Tichenor Skorcz of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 18, 1935 in Upshire County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Mifflin Ganell Tichenor and Irene Mae Morrison Tichenor. She was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan. One of her greatest joys was cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed canning, preserving, going to the casino and spending time with her family. In addition to raising her children, she was very involved with her community, serving with the Extension Homemakers Club, 4-H, Grant County Fair Board, Sheridan Riding Club, and teaching religious education at First Landmark Baptist Church and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Ms. Skorcz passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Amberwood Health and Rehab Center in Benton at the age of 83.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Tichenor, Andy Tichenor, and Mifflin Tichenor; sisters, Ethel Roush, and Helen Kincaid.

Survivors: Charles Skorcz; sons, Bill and wife Tammy Skorcz, Mark and wife Libby Skorcz, Chuckie and wife Amanda Skorcz all of Sheridan; daughters, Mona and husband David Merta of Germany, Betty Jo and husband David Hill of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Tina and husband Art Knab of Sheridan; sisters, Patricia Jo Brown of Orlando, Florida, Laura Dillon of Grove City, Ohio, Shirley Jones of Kingwood, West Virginia; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. Brad Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be Saturday night at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.

Pallbearers are Michael Skorcz, Cody Skorcz, Haydn Skorcz, Ethan Hill, Landon Berry and Justin Skorcz. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Skorcz, Devan Skorcz, Branden Skorcz, Cayson Merta, Jermaine Hill, Michael Hill, Eli Hill and Jordan Berry.         .
