Betty Jo Smith, of Prattsville, Arkansas was born on October 4, 1932, in Prattsville, the daughter of the late Leland Otis and Nora Lee Sauls Benning. She died at her home on June 15, 2007 at the age of 74 years.

She was a housewife, a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, and
was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Joe Smith.

Survivors: Husband, Rommie Smith of the home;
Two sons: Victor and wife, Marsha Smith of Benton;
Dewayne and wife, Martha Smith of Sheridan;

Two brothers: Clarence "Poodle" and wife Lenora Bennings of Prattsville;
Billy Lee Benning - Prattsville;

3 grand-sons: Jody, Eric and wife Chrystin and Chad and wife Carrie;
2 great-grandchildren: Erin and Colton

Funeral service will be Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville . Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 PM.
