Betty Rowe Wallingsford of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 31, 1939 at Point Cedar, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Robert Charles and Mary Elizabeth Hunt Rowe. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock, and had recently been attending White Hall United Pentecostal Church. She played the organ in various churches for probably 40 years, and enjoyed quilting. To say she had a green thumb would be an understatement. She was a Grant County Master Gardener, and took great pride in her flowers, and vegetables as well. Mrs. Wallingsford retired from AP&L after many years of service. She truly had a servant's heart, and enjoyed cooking for, and caring for others. She was also an amateur historian, researching genealogy information about her family.
Mrs. Wallingsford died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 82. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Harvey D. Wallingsford and his daughter, Joyce Hilton; brothers, Charles Orman Rowe and Glen Lowell Rowe; Survivors include her husband, Jerry Hilton of Sheridan; brother, Harold Rowe of Sheridan; Harvey's children, Gene Wallingsford and Carol Beech; grandchildren, Boyd and Brent Reichenbach, Martin, Harvey, and Brad Beech, Ronnie, Lance, and Renee Wallingsford; great grandchildren Tori, Brian, and Caleb Liles, Lindsay and Ike Reichenbach, Chance, Lawson, and Laney Wallingsford, Marty and Kevin Owens, Breelea, Jaycee, Aubrey, Bentley, Allie, Braden, Pryce, and Joy Beech; Great great grandchildren, Emory and Ella Liles. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Joel Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Creek cemetery. Visitation is also Friday, from 1 PM until service time.
