Obituary

William Hart "Bill" Corley, of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born December 3, 1937, the son of the late Hart Stephen and Winnie Alice Rudkins Corley. He was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran, having served in the Airborne Division. He was a retired truck driver, and charter member, and past president of #1 Hunting Club. Whether it was gardening, coon hunting, or fishing, he enjoyed spending time outdoors. Bill had a passion for horse racing and raising thouroubred horses. He was a family man, through and through, and enjoyed spending time watching the grandkids play sports, hunting and fishing with them, and especially their monthly family trip to Red Lobster.

Bill died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home in Sheridan, at the age of 79. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ozella Castleberry Corley; a daughter, Debbie Thornburg; and a son, Mike Hatten.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bill Corley, Jr. and Brenda, of Sheridan; daughter, Sandy Corley Nelson of White Hall; sister, Mary Ware of Sheridan; grandchildren, William Thornburg, Stephanie Jones, Mikey Hatten, Samantha Harris, Isaac Nelson; several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
