Billy Ray Pope of Sheridan was born October 4, 1926, in Tipton, Oklahoma, the son of the late Lloyd L. and Lillian Hale Pope. He was a real estate owner and a Navy Veteran having served in World War II.

Mr. Pope died March 9, 2004 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 77.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 15, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Grant County Library, 210 North Oak Street, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
