William Pryor "Bill" Vance of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 25, 1951 at Sheridan, the son of the late Elzy Pryor and Mary Dell Bostain Vance. Bill served in both the United States Army and Navy for 12 years. During that time he sailed around the world twice, having served aboard a nuclear submarine and the aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson. He was a master electrical technician and was very skilled with computers.
Mr. Vance died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home in Sheridan at the age of 64. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Crystal Norwood Carter and a nephew, Clay Tyson Vance.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Linda Vance of Sheridan and Bob and Tammi Vance of Hot Springs; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 4, 2015 at Providence Cemetery, near Sheridan. No visitation will be held.
