Billy Ray Atwood of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 27, 1940, at Sheridan, the son of the late William Harrison Atwood and Gladys Cynthia Crowder Atwood. He was a retired restaurant manager, a United States Army Veteran, and a Baptist. Billy had a great love for animals of all kinds, but he, and his late wife Deborah, especially enjoyed raising poultry and attending poultry shows together.

Mr. Atwood died Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, at the age of 78. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Croy Atwood.

Survivors include his brother, Bobby Johnson of Conway; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Joe Berg of Benton, and Jackie and George Brewer of White Hall. He is also survived by numerous other family members, and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation is Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
