Billy Joe Cummings, Sr., of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 28, 1933 in Heavener, Oklahoma, the son of the late Cecil H. and Grady Mae Pickle Cummings. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, deer hunting, koon hunting, training dogs, and planting a garden big enough for all the neighbors to enjoy. He was of the Baptist Faith and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Cummings died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas at the age of 87.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bruton Cummings; sisters, Alma Jones, Joyce Buffington, Imogene Perdue, Jewell West: daughter, Cheryl Hammonds; brother, Herbert Cummings and grandson, Derek Hammonds.

Survivors: sons, Billy Joe Cummings, Jr. (Teresa) of Prattsville, Gregory Alan Cummings of Sheridan, Michael Cummings of Sheridan; daughter, Debbie Gutierrez (David) of Bakersfield, California; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 13 ^th at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Ricky Meeks officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Barrett Clifton, Bobby Cummings, Jamie Cummings, and Eddie Suttle. Pallbearers are Jackson Cummings, Tristin Cummings, Brandon Cummings, Tim Jones, John Hebert and Spencer Mitchell.
