Billy Fred Lawhon of Hensley, Arkansas (Saline County) was born June 14, 1941 at Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Corbet and Lucy Ann Greer Lawhon. He was a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Perryville but attended East End Baptist Church. He worked at ABF Trucking, was a member of the Teamsters Union and had worked for the Sheridan School District at East End Intermediate School. He loved listening to CCR, drinking coffee on the front porch, deer hunting, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Lawhon died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, at the age of 75.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lawhon, a daughter, Tami Smith and a sister, Mary Mitchell.
Survivors: wife of 26 years, Patricia Raley Lawhon of the home; sons, Randy and wife Karen Lawhon of Russellville, Phillip and wife Lilly Lawhon of Adona, Steve Jarrell of Little Rock; daughter, Lesa Jarrell of East End; sister, Pat Warner of East End; grandchildren; Jesse and Misty Lawhon, Dalton Lawhon, Tonya Hughes, Jennifer and Will McNeely, Katie and JD Hopson, Jessica Linam, Shelby Kumpe, Carrie and Allen Buck, John Fulton, Brantley Jarrell and Cali Jarrell, Dalton (Jamie) Lawhon; 11 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way; 1 great great grandchild, his dog Suzy, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at East End Baptist Church with Rev. Edwards Raley officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery with Rev. Robert Standley officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 until service time.
Pallbearers are Steve Jarrell, Ty Warner, Everette Davis, Jesse Lawhon, JD Hopson, Dalton Lawhon and Will McNeely.
