BJ Goodwin of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 12, 1936, in Charleston, MS, the son of the late Josh Wesley and Garthenia Whitehurst Goodwin. He attended Word Covenant Church, was co-founder of Multi States Electric and had worked for Arkansas Electric Coop as a truck driver. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of H&L Hunting Club and Shellnut Hunting Club. He enjoyed working with his cattle and deer hunting.

Mr. Goodwin passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at his home at the age of 87.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scott Goodwin; brothers, WH Goodwin, Alvin Goodwin; sisters, Edna Whitehurst and Sue Summers.

Survivors: son, Marty (Michelle) Goodwin; daughter, Sherry (James) Rowland all of Sheridan; 4 grandchildren, Curtis Rowland, Rachel Nalley, Jennifer Hoyle, Candace Goodwin; 7 great grandchildren, Chase Nalley, Grayson Nalley, Annsley Nalley, Avery Rowland, Calen Rowland, Gunner Hoyle, Adalynn Hoyle, and host of extended family members and friends.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Cemetery in the Ico community with Bro. John Mark Williams officiating. Visitation will be Friday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery Association, 2014 Grant 56, Sheridan, AR  72150.
