On the afternoon of October 24, 2015 our Heavenly Father called Robert "Bob" Luther Benning home.
Bob, 75, was born on December 5, 1939 in Prattsville Arkansas. Bob was a graduate of Stover High School in New Matamoras, Ohio, served in the United States Air Force, and a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Oven S. Benning and Ruby Mae Young Benning of Prattsville, one brother, Billy Jack Benning of Prattsville, and one sister Catherine Ezell Taylor of Prattsville.
Bob is survived by his wife Margaret Jane "Maggie" Benning of Prattsville, five daughters, Michelle Benning (Casey) Leasure, Staci (Chad) Newall, Jeanie Anderson, Rita Pieroni, Linda (Brian) Wetzler; son, Christopher Curtis; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Larger than life is only the beginning when you remember Bob. A true "Southern" gentleman, with a flair for story-telling, Bob never met a stranger. Bob loved airplanes and back in the day was known around town as the "Flying Meatloaf" Bob loved being outdoors tinkering around his little house on the hill. Most of all Bob loved his family and friends.
Tears will fall because we miss him so but our memories will make us smile when we think of a man named Bob, but known to many as husband, Daddy, Daddy Bob, Uncle, and Friend.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Neal Pumphrey and Bro. Brian Wetzler officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be Monday: 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
