Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Yancey of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 19, 1948 in Quincy, California the son of Margaret Palmer Yancey and the late Grady Yancey. He was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan. He served in the United States Navy for 21 years as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a Viet Nam Veteran with duty stations on the USS Ranger, USS Midway, Phillipines, Memphis, Japan and Corpus Christi. His second career was with Operations at the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

Mr. Yancey died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 60.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Yancey and a daughter Kelly Angela Yancey.

Joe Yancey of Hot Springs;
Sisters, Sue Edwards of Benton;
Cindy Atchley of Beach Park, Illinios;
Granddaughters, Katherine and Kayla Yancey
Great granddaughter, Aubrey Madison Pierce;
Father-in-law, Frank Semelka, Sr. of Sheridan;
Special Aunts, Blanche Ball and Louise Raley; Special Uncle, Clifford Palmer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. Jimmy Raley officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan with Military Honors. Visitation: 6-8P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Martin, David Martin, David Ward, Jesse Raley, Frank Semelka, Jr., Mark Semelka, Billy Ellerbrook and David Semelka and Dan Atchley.
