Robert Clarence Cotton, 55 years old, of Sheridan, Arkansas went to walk with Jesus on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carol Mercer Cotton; two sisters, Jennifer Roberts and Clarissa Cotton, both of Hot Springs; a brother, John Cotton of Sheridan; an uncle, Everett "Sonny" Long of Pine Bluff; an aunt, Ida Mae Edmonds of Nashville, AR; a sister-in-law, Karen (Roger) House of Sheridan; a brother-in-law, Russell (Lori) Mercer of Alexander; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and numerous wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Joyce Cotton and his grandparents, Everett Long and Eltive Westerman.
Bobby was a 1976 graduate of Sheridan High School, a long time member of Junet Pentecostal Church of Sheridan, and a member of the Lisenbey Hunting Club. He was a Nascar fan and enjoyed many years of local red-neck racing. Thanks to supportive friends and family, Bobby was able to continue enjoying deer hunting, his cabin at Buckville, and fishing on Lake Ouachita for several years after his paralyzing injury in 1989.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28

Bobby's injury was tragic but God used this tragedy according to his purpose to strengthen his walk with Jesus. Through this, Bobby was able to witness and lead many other people to the Lord. This devastating event truly became a blessing. Bobby's character and His light was able to shine through as an example of how to face adversity. His family will forever be grateful to Bro. Al Michael for his spiritual leadership and faithful friendship.
Bobby was so loved, will be missed, and will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Al Michael, Bro. Stacy Lisenbey and Bro. Jeff Lisenbey officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Junet Pentecostal Church, 400 Grant 167084, Sheridan, AR 72150.

Pallbearers are Jerry Davis, Steve Threkeld, Michael Michael, Brooks Lisenbey, Bill Huffman, Harlin Smith, Dale Hatley, Greg Walker, Dale Crutchfield and Ben Huffman. Honorary pallbearer is Don Huffman.
