IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie Sue
Harris
October 28, 1955 – July 28, 2022
Bonnie Sue Smith Harris of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 28, 1955 in Fairfield, California, the daughter of the late Shelton Truitt and Geraldine Gimlin Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Harris, her brother, Biff Smith and a son Auston Harris.
Survivors: children, Michael (Schelle)Harris of Canyon, Texas, Missy (Shawn) Johnson of East End, Shelton Harris of Ft. Smith; brother, Danny (Mickie) Smith of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Dee Ann Smith of Sheridan; 3 grandchildren, Britni Harris, Shawn Johnson, Jr. Addalyn Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Bonnie was the start and part of many ministries. She started the Frog Sunday School class in 1997, teaching the first Bible study, "Experiencing God".
One of her greatest passions were her AWANA "princesses". She taught them they were princesses because they were a "Child of the King". "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" 1 John 3:1. While teaching them to study The Word, she taught them to love Jesus, but more importantly how much Jesus loved them. "Rhema", a scripture that speaks to you in someway through The Word was always a highlight of her teachings.
The military was a love of Bonnie's because of the service her sons, husband and father gave and continue to give. She had a real heart for soldiers and wanted them to always have a comfortable place to lay their head at night. She sewed hundreds and hundreds of twin bedsheets made from donated sheets to send overseas to Iraq. The sheets were delivered to soldiers and wrapped in each one was a payday candy bar! Bonnie's gift of cooking led her to the food ministry at the church. One of her specialties was making bread and cinnamon rolls for anyone in need.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. With that hope, joy and peace Bonnie trusted her Lord everyday seeking His face and knowing it was all about Him and not about her no matter what kind of day she was having. Today that hope we have in Jesus is a reality for her. An inspiration, witness, servant, encourager and friend, Bonnie lived out the meaning of FROG (fully rely on God). She witnessed to anyone wherever she was about Jesus and how much he loved them. Bonnie was always lit up with a glow in your cheering section when you had a GOD THING to celebrate.
Oh to be like her one day!!
