Brad Cunningham

Bradley Lloyd Cunningham, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 9, at the age of 83. He was born May 29, 1943, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bradley Jr. and Reba Sebourn Cunningham. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Curry Cunningham, his four daughters, Kimberly Hollinger (Doug) of Sheridan, Kari Shea (Darin) of Rosenberg, Texas, Kelli Reed (Bobby) of Sheridan, and Kayla Bumgardner (Blake) of Little Rock; and his brothers, Bruce (Donna), Doug (Peggy), and Tim (Jan) Cunningham, who lovingly called him "Butch".

Brad was a proud grandfather to Ashley Whitehead (Dylan), Caleb (Taylor) and Jacob (Kaylee) Hollinger, Andrew (Christina), Logan, Allie and Olivia Shea, Seul Ho Park, Cooper and Colton Gills, Cade and Avery Reed, Brodie and Noah Bumgardner, and a proud great-grandfather to Asher Whitehead.

Brad spent his entire career of 40 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. His many years there reflected his strong work ethic. He began as a lineman and worked his way into management, eventually serving as a Network Planning Engineer. After retirement, Brad continued serving others through the Pioneers, helping build wheelchair ramps for people in need. Brad donated many gallons of blood to the American Red Cross, giving every time he was eligible.

Outside of work, Brad had many interests that brought him great enjoyment. He was an avid gun collector, hunter, and marksman and was a longtime member of the Benton Gun Club and Pine Grove Hunting Club. He also had a special love for British automobiles and enjoyed his involvement with the British Car Club of Arkansas. Brad spent many hours attending band, choir, dance and sporting events supporting his kids and grandkids.

Brad’s faith in Jesus Christ was an important part of his life. He was a longtime member of Antioch MBC in Little Rock and was currently a member of East Union MBC in East End, where he faithfully served as a member of the security team.

Brad was a quiet man, but his character spoke loudly. He was a man of integrity and you could always count on him. His faith was not something he simply talked about—it was evident in the way he lived and served. He shared his faith by his actions. He always had a smile, a quiet laugh and a little head nod that anyone who knew him will remember fondly.

We are grateful for the memories, the love he shared and the example he set. His legacy will continue through the generations of family who were blessed to call him son, husband, Daddy, Grandaddy, Great-Grandaddy, brother, and friend.

Visitation will be Friday, August 21st from 6-7:30 PM and the Funeral will be Saturday, August 22nd at 10 AM, both at East Union Missionary Baptist Church in Hensley. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in East End.
