Brian E. James, age 52, of Hoschton, Georgia, died Thursday night, August 10, 2017 in Jackson County, Georgia, near his home.
Brian was born in October 1964 in Dublin, the son of Edward and Shirley James at Laurens Memorial Hospital. He was an honor graduate and was named Star Student in Dublin High School class of 1982. His main activities outside of school work , centered around Drama Club and Thespian Troup 669 led by math teacher, the late Mr. R. Lynn Wooddy, who Brian chose as his Star Teacher.
Brian grew up in the neighborhood of the county hospital in the James home on Belmont Drive. He was active in the youth activities of Jefferson Street Baptist Church as a teenager.
He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in December 1986 with a BS degree in Information and Computer Science and was employed as Sr. Implementation Engineer at Alogent Corporation in the bank software business. Brian's hobbies included hiking, camping, and traveling.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Ashley James, of Dublin, brother, Alan (Carol) James, of Knoxville, TN, nephew Chris James, and niece, Ivey James, both of Knoxville, as well as many cousins, and other relatives in Arkansas.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Rev. Scott Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
