On Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, the Lord opened His arms and lovingly welcomed His faithful servant, Gale Edward Umholtz into Heaven.

Gale was born Aug. 28, 1942 just moments after his twin brother Dale, to parents, Ervin Tracy and Edna Mae Heard Umholtz in Little Rock, Arkansas.

His father, Tracy died unexpectedly when the boys were 3 years old.
Years later his mother remarried Ronald Curtis "RC" Macy, whom the boys loved and accepted as their dad and he in turn loved and raised them as his own.

The twins graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1960 and from the Seminary in Little Rock in 1965.

In his never faltering, faithful way, Gale has been serving the Lord for most of his life. The majority of his time serving was in Colorado and Arkansas. He pastored in Colorado for nearly 20 years before returning to Arkansas where he pastored at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville for several years before he received his final call to pastor at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan where he stayed until he was called home.
Gale also retired from the Department of Education in Little Rock, where he had worked for many years.

Gale left this world peacefully after his third battle with cancer, at his home in Sheridan, on Sunday evening surrounded by family members.

He was preceded in death by all his parents, his twin brother, Dale who died in 2010, his sister-in-law, Linda (Massery) Umholtz and his brother-in-law, LeRoy Sitton.

Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and wife of almost 55 years, Mable "Jo" Turner Umholtz; his sister, Becky Sitton of North Little Rock; his sons and their wives, L.D. and Sharon Umholtz of Mablevale; Lawton and Angie Umholtz of Theodore, AL; his daughter, Sheri Umholtz of Sheridan; his grandchildren, Dustin Umholtz, Brittany Barrett, Wesley Umholtz, Daniel Umholtz, Crystal Umholtz, Kyle Davis, Marissa Davis and Lauren Davis; his great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Ireland, Lillyanne, Iris, Willow, Henry, Kaelar, Evelynn and Logan Skye.

Funeral service will be 12:00 (Noon) Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Dustin Umholtz, Wesley Umholtz, Kyle Davis, Ronnie Sitton, David Sitton, Chuck Sitton, Curtis Umholtz, Chris Umholtz, and Craig Umholtz.
