Leon L. "Butch" McConathy, Jr. Of Grapevine, Arkansas was born January 23, 1958 in Ruston, LA, the son of Leon L. McConathy, Sr. And Sarah Storey McConathy. He attended Bethany #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine and was a sales consultant for Landers Automotive in Benton. He enjoyed playing golf, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He also was well known for rescuing dogs.
Butch passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas at the age of 55.
Survivors: wife, Paula Reynolds McConathy of Grapevine; daughter, Sarah Katelyn McConathy of Grapevine; parents, Leon L. McConathy, Sr. And Sarah Storey McConathy of West Monroe, LA; Step-sons, Carson Turner and Campbell Turner both of Grapevine; sister, Jane McConathy Brandon and husband Jerry of Downsville, LA; granddaughter, Lily Grace Turner; niece, Ashley Pere' and husband, Dom of Baton Rouge, LA; nephew and God-son, Patrick Brandon of West Monroe, LA ,as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Womble and Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
Also a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Kiroli Park in West Monroe, LA.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Brandon, David Counts, John McClendon, Mike Reynolds, Philip Reynolds, Bob Worley, Josh Garner and Matt Garner. Junior pallbearer will be Eli Brandon. Honorary pallbearers will be his Landers Automotive Family and Ralph Huneycutt.
