Obituary

Carl M. Kelley died peacefully surrounded by family members on Thursday, August 5 th , 2021.

He was born April 2 nd , 1945 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Thurston and Mary-Frances Kelley, who preceded him in death. Carl is survived by three siblings: Chloe Petty, Rita Kelley, and Dean Kelley. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Charles Kelley, and Jewel Phelps. He graduated from Leola High School in 1964. While in school at Leola, he met his beloved wife, Betty Kelley.

Carl and Betty Kelley were high school sweethearts and married March 13 th , 1965. Betty was the love and joy of Carl's life. There unique bond and understanding of each other was incredibly special. In love, they began a family starting with their eldest child, Roy Kelley (Maria) and daughter Pamela Burks (Joseph).

Carl worked hard and made many sacrifices to support his family and to ensure they had everything they needed. After 35 years he retired as a Millwright from ALCOA (Aluminum Company of America).

Carl found enjoyment in hunting and fishing. Carl was a Cowboy at heart who loved horses, proudly wearing his Cowboy attire, and working with his hands. He loved creating artwork and reading in his spare time.

Carl loved his family and was very proud of each of them. He had an uncanny way of making everyone feel special and loved. He had strong hands and a kind spirit. Many would describe Carl as being a child at heart. He always managed to find the joy in the little things and viewed the world with hope.

Carl is survived by his wife Betty of 56 years, and his children, Roy Kelley and Pamela Burks. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Leah Mitchell, Crystal Kelley, Paula Kelley, Steffanie Gerbereux, Tyler Kelley, and Jesse Kelley. Great-Grandchildren: Alfredo Kelley, Emily Kelley, Elizabeth Sinclair, Mason Kelley, and Damien Mitchell.

Carl was much beloved by his family and friends. He will be missed more than words can say, but he loved so fiercely and so much to last us a lifetime!

Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Poyen Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M., August 10, 2021 at Black Spring near Mt. Ida.
