Carol Shoptaw Tygart of Maumelle, Arkansas was born November 11, 1951 in Malvern, Arkansas the daughter of Earlene Shoptaw and the late Maurice Shoptaw. She was a graduate of Sheridan Schools, Class of 1970, SVI Certified Lab Tech School of Phlebotomy and the Agape School of World Evangelism. She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan, Junet Penetcostal Church in Sheridan and was a member of the Agape Church.
Carol died at her home in Maumelle on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the age of 60.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, A.C. " Shorty" Tygart, her nephew, David Clayton Shoptaw and her beloved pet, Sebastian Bailey Tygart.
She is survived by her husband and best friend since age 12, Phil Tygart whom she married July 12, 1969; her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bryan and Lana Tygart of Jackson, Tennessee, Aaron and Valerie Tygart of Rogers, Jonathan and Amanda Tygart of Bentonville; Mother, Earlene Shoptaw of Little Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Brian Staffford of Little Rock; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Glenda Shoptaw of Hot Springs and Steven Shoptaw of Benton; Mother-in-law, Wendy Tygart of Booneville, Grandchildren, Maegan Tygart, Cody Tygart, Jack Tygart, Spencer Tygart, Baker Tygart, Max Tygart and Lizzie Tygart and a host of friends.
Carol had many passions in her life. She loved her family. She loved to shop, decorate, garden, go for Sunday drives, walk in the mall holding Phil's hand and just being a wonderful wife, mother, sister, homemaker, friend and Nana.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Agape Church Family Life Center in the Youth Auditorium, 701 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas. A time of visitation will be 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with a 2:00 graveside service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery also in Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dorcas House or the Agape Church Family Life Center.
The family would like to thank Carol's physicians and caregivers, Dr. Linda Rollins and nurse Carla Rodgers, Dr. Alonzo Burba, Elder Independence and the office staff, Dora and Sharon as well as caregivers, Sharon Wyatt and Erma Esau and Baptist Hospice for the wonderful care you have shown to Carol.
