Carolyn Jean (Fancher) Poe
Born on March 10, 1951, and

After a long, and courageous battle with cancer, Carolyn ran into the arms of her savior with her loving husband of forty-nine years by her side. While she will forever be missed, her family rejoices that her battle is won, and she is now at peace.
Carolyn was born in Little Rock to William and Frances Fancher. She has lived in Okinawa, Germany, Iowa, Wyoming, Colorado and Minnesota but returned to Arkansas in 2007. She has called Sheridan her home ever since.
After graduating from Little Rock Central High, Carolyn continued to be an outstanding scholar and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta, and Phi Beta Alpha during her academic career. She was also a distinguished member of the Golden Key Honor Society. She earned a total of five Associate of Arts Degrees from Laramie Community College. Her areas of study were Sociology, English, History, Liberal Arts and Psychology. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Eastern Wyoming College. She earned a Bachelor of Social Science, a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Women's Studies, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Wyoming. To complete her academic career, she earned a Master of Science degree from UALR.
Carolyn loved to travel throughout her life and enjoyed many cruises with her husband to Alaska and the Bahamas. She enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit the theme parks and loved roller coasters. She visited Las Vegas several times and loved all the live shows and trips to the Grand Canyon.
Carolyn loved counted cross stitching and she created a lovely home with all the pictures she stitched. Her cross-stitching creations earned her several awards from the Minnesota and Wyoming State Fairs as well as various county fairs in Wyoming. While she earned several blue ribbons in Wyoming for her work, her greatest achievement was a Blue Ribbon and Best in Show in the Minnesota State Fair for a woman peering at her reflection in a pool.
Carolyn loved her dachshunds Elvis, Harley and Sturgis. As they have preceded her in death, they will be laid to rest with her per her wishes. Her dachshund Thumbelina will miss her terribly but will be a continued companion to her husband Jim.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Jim, and they have three children. Brenda Poe Pratte of Azele, Texas. Christy Davidson (Joseph) of Tampa, Florida, and Anna Poe Sorrick (Jason) of LaGrange, Wyoming. Together Carolyn and Jim have five grandchildren: Justin, Stevie Dean, Ryan, Joshua, and Jimmy Joe.
