Carrol D. Easterly, 76, of Sheridan, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 5, 1929, to William D. Easterly, Sr. and Coy Harper Easterly.
He graduated from Sheridan High School, in 1948. He was owner-operator of a service station in Sheridan for 30 years, and was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
In retirement, Carrol spent many hours in the local restaurant drinking coffee with his buddies. He also loved to feed the fish in his ponds and taking care of the many cats that adopted his home as theirs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ardell Easterly and William D. Easterly , Jr., and two sons, Toney and Jimmy Easterly.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Easterly and wife, Debbie of Pine Bluff, and Kim Easterly of Sheridan, one daughter, Judi Easterly Castleberry and husband, Donnie of Camden, six grandchildren, Stephanie and Stacy Easterly of Fayetteville, Bethany Castleberry of Fayetteville, Caleb and Daniel Castleberry of Camden, Josh Easterly of Sheridan, two step-grandchildren, James Vance of Sheridan, Julie Pacheco of Malvern and four step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with Reverend Ron Ballard officating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Josh Easterly, Caleb Castleberry, Daniel Castleberry, Daniel Castleberry, Billy Easterly, Barton Easterly, Adam Rutledge, Larry Jones and Al Fisher.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Saturday, 5-7 P.M.
