IN LOVING MEMORY OF
C.D.
Scott
April 4, 1952 – February 13, 2021
Rev C. D. Scott, Pastor of First Apostolic Church of Sheridan, gained his heavenly wings on February 13, 2021. He was born on April 4, 1952 to Clyde and Henrietta Stovall Scott. He was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Smith, class of 1970. In July 1971, at Redfield Arkansas, he received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and was baptized in Jesus Name. He married the love of his life, Deborah Pearce Scott on February 15, 1975. The following year they moved to White Hall, Arkansas where he became the assistant pastor at the United Pentecostal church for eight years, before the Lord called him to Pastor in Coffeyville, Kansas. Eight years later he was called to Haysville, Kansas where he spent another eight years pastoring. In 1999 he spent a year evangelizing all over the western United States before the Lord called him to Pastor in Sheridan, Arkansas in 2000. He had a growing love for this community and developed many friendships. Aside from his ministry, he was an accomplished Glazier and owner of a glass business in Sheridan for many years. He was the Pastor of First Apostolic Church of Sheridan, where he continued to preach the oneness of God, water baptism in Jesus Name and Acts 2:38 salvation. With the help of God and his faithful saints, together they built a new church building that was completed in 2013. He was a devoted pastor and loved each individual in his congregation. He had a special place in his heart for the youth. He invested his time helping them grow strong in the Lord, and always led by example. Not only did he preach the word of God, but he lived it. His ability to play the guitar and sing complimented his ministry very well. He and his wife were blessed with a beautiful and talented family whom he loved very much. His grandchildren brought him much joy. He enjoyed drinking a cup of coffee, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taking care of the lawn, but most of the time you would find him at church. His life and ministry impacted so many and will continue to do so. This is just a small glimpse of Rev. Scott's life. Above all, he had a love for God and stood firm on his faith, never wavering from the true word of God. He's so willingly gave himself to reach the lost, and lead others to Christ. He leaves us with the question, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?"
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Deborah Pearce Scott; sons, Joseph and wife Molly Scott, Jared and wife Sarah Scott, Jon Scott; grandchildren, Joel Douglas Scott, Reaghan Marie Scott, Delaney Amanda Scott, Evan Bowdrie Scott, Wesson Hayes Scott, all of Sheridan; brother, Danny A. and wife Heather Scott of Wheelersburg, Ohio; sister, Brenda Granger of Charleston, Arkansas.
