Obituary

Celia Channell McGhee of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 10, 1915 in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late W.P. and Rausia Lee Fulmer Channell. She was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan. She loved to quilt and be with her family and she was one of the original owners of City Ice and Grocery which was also known as the Ice House.

Mrs. McGhee died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab Center at the age of 96.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvie "Fibber " McGhee; son, A. L. McGhee; Brothers, Elmer Channell, Elvy Channell, Thomas Channell, L. D. Channell; Sister, Beulah Weatherington; grandchildren, Rita Mayhugh, Sue Harness and Kimberly Williams; great grandchild, Thomas Paul Wilson, and great great grandchild, Brandy Harness.

Survivors: Daughter, Shirley and husband Ed Vance of Sheridan;
6 Grandchildren;16 Great grandchildren; 15 Great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 30, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home .Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan.

Pallbearers are Anthony Watson, Jeff Vance, Eddie Vance, Robert Vance, Lennie Barnes and Driskell Hardin.
