Dorothy Charlene England Deer of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born July 10, 1933 at Morganton, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charles Lee and Alice Crow Swofford. She was a member of Sheridan Church of Christ, and had previously worked for the Sheridan Headlight newspaper. She had a servant's heart, and offered a kind word and a smile to everyone she met.
Mrs. Deer died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Mauncie Grady, Ruby Woods, Willie Dell Hutto, Troy Swofford, Dale Swofford, Janelle Johnson, and Wendel Swofford.
Survivors include her devoted husband and best friend, Elbert Ray Deer of Sheridan; sons, Eldon (Lanell) England of Searcy, Arkansas, Steve (Donna) England of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter, Debi England Hilton of Beebe, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kari (Blake) Chapman of Searcy, Arkansas, Steven McDaniel (Leslie) of Cotter, Arkansas, Kellie (Nick) Darnell of Searcy, Arkansas, Lori Orman of Beebe, Arkansas, Kohl England of Searcy, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Gabe Chapman, Keaton Chapman, Cade McDaniel, Braiden Dewey, Emma Darnell, England Elise Darnell, Hunter Orman, and Izzy Orman. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends left to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Sheridan Church of Christ with Joe Jones, Tom Warmack and Steven McDaniel officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 P.M., at White County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Searcy, Arkansas. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
