Charles Kenneth Ausbrooks of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 18, 1929 in Cato, Arkansas, the son of the late William Henry and Thelma Hogan Ausbrooks. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a retired chemical engineer at Timex Corporation. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. While working at Timex he was awarded two patents for developing a gold substitute used in electroplating.
Mr. Ausbrooks died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home at the age of 83.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Steve Ausbrooks, Mike Ausbrooks and a brother, Jack Ausbrooks.
Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Colvert Ausbrooks of Sheridan; Sons, Scott and wife Darnelle Ausbrooks of Sheridan; Kevin and wife Dorothy Ausbrooks of Landmark and Chris and wife Deirdre Ausbrooks of Little Rock; Daughter, Karen and husband John Morris of Sheridan; Daughter-in-law, Sandy Ausbrooks of Sheridan; Brothers, Harold Ausbrooks of Damascus; Ralph Ausbrooks of East End; Sister, Jeanene Shepherd of Conway; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Williams and Bro. Vance Nutt officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M
Pallbearers are Scott Ausbrooks, Kevin Ausbrooks, Alex Morris, Eli Knudsen, Charlie Ausbrooks, Chris Ausbrooks and David Reynolds.
