Charles Everett Beard of Prattsville, Arkansas was born March 6, 1944 at Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of the late Everett Larkin Beard and Jesse Bernice Ivey Beard Green. He was a proud patriot, having served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. He was awarded numerous commendations, most notably, The Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Post 30, was a Baptist, and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He liked to coon hunt, fish, and he was skilled at carpentry. Charles loved animals of all kinds, watching birds and deer in his yard, and having had lots of dogs over the years.
Mr. Beard died Monday, August 31, 2020, at his home, at the age of 76. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Beard; sisters, Elizabeth Linda Lou Biggs and Glenda Beard.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Flora McNabb Beard of Prattsville; sons, Sheldon Todd Beard (Nam) of Lucas, Texas; Charles Everett Beard II of Prattsville; daughter, Tina Renee Cooper (Richard) of Glenrose; brother, Danny Joe Beard of Staves; sisters, Brenda Rucker of Grapevine, Carol Cagle of White Hall, Sheila Smith of White Hall, Margaret Boyette of Western Grove; grandchildren, Tae Kim, Min Kim, Theresa Beard, Amanda Lindsey, Tori Cooper, Jessie Beard, Shelby Beard; great grandchildren, Olivia Kim, Greyson Winters, Luna Alice Evans, Gabriela Beard, Dakota Lindsey, Kaiden Tarvin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Tony Williams officiating, and eulogy presented by Charles' sister-in-law, Rosetta Ferrell.
Visitation is Friday, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
