Obituary

Charles Elton Creech of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 14, 1936, at Camden, Arkansas, the son of the late Bernard and Louise Cox Creech. He was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School as well as Southern Arkansas University (SAU) in Magnolia. After graduation, he served in the United States Army, and later went to work for the Pine Bluff Arsenal, where he remained until his retirement, as Resource Manager, in 1993, after 27 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, where he had formerly served as Sunday School Teacher, usher, and youth sponsor. Charles was a 32 Degree Mason, having reached the level of Shriner. He was coach of both Little League as well as Babe Ruth League teams, and was a diehard fan of both the Sheridan Yellowjackets , and, of course, The Arkansas Razorbacks. Being an avid hunter, he was President of Creech Hunting Club, and enjoyed hunting squirrel, turkey, deer, and ducks. He, alongside his wife, were probably best known by countless numbers of children over the years, for their portrayal of Santa and Mrs. Clause for both the Pine Bluff Arsenal and around Sheridan. Charles was also instrumental in forming the Center Grove Water Association and the Center Grove Fire Department.
