James Thomas Charles Dismuke of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born in Humnoke, Arkansas on April 8, 1932, the son of Thomas Lester and Audie Mae Tidmore Dismuke. He died at his home in Sheridan on September 11, 2009 at the age of 77 years.
He was an army veteran of the Korean War; a 32nd degree Mason; member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and former secretary of the church and business owner of Sheridan Auto Parts and Jim's NAPA in Malvern for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, house-boating and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Bailey Dismuke;
Son: Jim Dismuke (wife, Kim) of Sheridan;
Daughter: Karen Dismuke of Sherwood;
3 grand-daughters: Alexandra Dismuke; Vanessa Dismuke; and Presley Dismuke;
Great-grand-daughter: Celeste Harmon;
and a special cousin: Syble Pettit.
Funeral will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at First Landmark Church in Sheridan. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in ICO Community near Sheridan. Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
Pallbearers will be Craig Richardson; Craig Thomas; Terry Hefner; Jeremy Morris; Justin Morris and Karl Witherow.
