Obituary

Charles Noel Gentry of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 20, 1920 in Sheridan, the son of the late Houston Calvin and Effie Josephine Donaldson Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, a World War II Army Veteran, retiring in 1946, and was commander for the Sheridan National Guard, retiring as Captain on May 23, 1963, at which time the Armory was named in his honor.

Mr. Gentry died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 86.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Joel Charles Gentry.

Survivors, Wife, Juanita Bates Welch Gentry of Sheridan;
Daughters, Belinda (Marvin) Greene of Little Rock; Ellen Kaye Gentry of Sheridan; Peggy Kraft of Reston, Virginia;
Brother in Law, Virgil Hilburn of Shreveport, Louisiana;
One Grandchild;
Step-children, Velma Crouch of Sheridan; Shirley (Jerry) Vint of Little Rock; Inas (Randy) Harrison of North Little Rock; Mary (Lew) Wallace of Deatsville, Alabama; Sandra (Joe) Fitzpatrick of Cary, North Carolina;
13 step grandchildren; 22 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchild

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Danny Hill and Bro. James Batts officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation: 6-8 PM Tuesday night at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
