Obituary

Charles Thomas Harper of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 11, 1937 in Savannah, Georgia, the son of the late Thomas Harper and Edna Knight Sinclair Harper.

He was an active member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, where he served his Lord faithfully and was a member of the Mixed Adults Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School Class of 1955, served in the US Navy for 4 years, retired as Assistant Police Chief for Pine Bluff and also worked for over 20 years at American Home Patient. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his "special" grandchildren and his great granddaughter.

Mr. Harper died at his home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 83.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Scott Harper.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, best friend, and caregiver, Mary Etta Kimmer Harper of Sheridan; son, David (Karen) Harper of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Tyler, Zane, Zoe, Kelsey and Sam and a great granddaughter, Nadya and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 34, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
