Charles Reed of the Hardin Community was born June 22, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at Davis Hospital, the son of the late James Alfred and Mary Works Reed. He was a master electrician by trade working for Charlie Griffith for many years eventually retiring from the Pine Bluff Arsenal. Charles loved riding motorcycles and being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Charles passed away Thursday December 26, 2025 at St Vincent hospital in Little Rock at the age of 74.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brothers James Varnell, Bill Varnell, John Reed; and a sister Margie White.

He is survived by his Brothers Kenneth Reed of Sheridan, Larry Joe (Pearl) Reed of Watson Chapel, Randy Reed of Hardin, Gary Reed of Sheridan and one sister Judy Church of Pine Bluff and a whole host nieces and nephews.

Charles will also be greatly missed by his beloved canine companions, Sissy Girl, Bango, and Mary

Visitation will be Friday January 2, 2026 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday January 3, 2026 at  10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood cemetery in Rison.

Pallbearers will include  Matt Reed, Jimmy Bond, Alan Munn, Hunter Reed, Chris Gatlin, and Dave Mitchell
