Charles Martin Skorcz of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 9, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Clarence Martin and Maxine Atchley Skorcz. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Sheridan, where he was the first baby baptized in that church.
Charles was a proud Veteran serving in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was awarded best in his class for marksmanship in his training.
In his career, he worked for International Paper Company and then owned a glass business in Houston, Texas. He later moved back to Arkansas and became a licensed electrician.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, camping, fishing, raising a garden, and sitting on his porch watching hummingbirds and deer. He loved his farm and had enjoyed clearing the land that he called home.
Charles died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his home at the age of 64.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Jablonowski.
Survivors: wife, Beverly Marks Skorcz of Sheridan; sons, Alex Joseph Skorcz and wife Samantha of Cedar Park, Texas, Matthew Jacob Skorcz of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Jennica Skorcz Fulton and husband John of North Little Rock; sisters, Mary Skorcz Tolander and Kathleen Wylie both of Sheridan; grandchildren, Caleb and Riley Jablonowki , Carson Skorcz and nephew, Clarence Skorcz Weatherford.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Sheridan. A time of visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:30 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home with a Memorial Mass at 12:30 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Honorary and special friends include Chuck and Clay Chwalinski, Wayne Valentine, John Harris, Darrell Hayden, Randy Springer and Harvey Skorcz.
