Charlie Marion Murdock of the Orion Community, north of Sheridan, was born August 15, 1927 at Redfield, the son of the late Daniel Richard and Adaline Maybelle Henry Murdock. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church, was a United States Army Veteran, and a retired electrician. Charlie was a Mason and member of Gavel Lodge #532, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on things in his shop.

Mr. Murdock died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehab at the age of 86. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Stephen Murdock and Peggy Murdock, as well as his sisters, Hazel Campbell, Bernice Holt, Dorothy May Bowman, Annie Chandler, Ethel McGowan, Mineola Putman, and borthers Carey Murdock and Pete Murdock.

Survivors include his wife and best friend for over 65 years, Esther Chaloner Murdock of the Orion Community; grandson, Mark Patterson; great grandson, Daniel Patterson; and his beloved dog, Willie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Robert Standley officiating. Burial will be in Orion Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.
